Outdoor Decor – Gorgeous!

When you choose an outdoor setting in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge, you can leave most of the decor to Mother Nature. The fun is throwing some of your own personality and ideas to enhance the event. Here are some of the details from a recent wedding at Bridal Veil Lakes (we seem to be on a roll with that venue, we do shoot a lot of weddings there and always love it!) Seating charts, table names, and lighting all blended with the natural setting, and the pavilion was transformed into a comfy living room for intimate visiting. While waiting for the ceremony, guests spent their time with personalized Sudoku and Crosswords.

The Joy of 2012 – Laurel & Elliott are Married at Bridal Veil Lakes

These two busy med students turned off their beepers and hosted a fantastic wedding! The Michigan natives treated their home town guests to Portland’s gems: Bridal Veil Lakes, Northwest beer and wine, classic Northwest cuisine, and Salt and Straw Ice Cream. In turn, Laurel and Elliott introduced their local guests to their favorite Michigan yard game, Cornhole. The set was handmade by friends all the way down to the monogrammed beanbag, and it was a smashing success!

So much fun! So many laughs!

The Joy of 2012 – Simone & Todd’s Lake Oswego Wedding

There is something about a wedding at the home of the bride, groom, or even a good friend. They’re so sweet and intimate. I just love them. Simone & Todd were married on the patio of the home in which she grew up. A home that included a spectacular view of Lake Oswego and beautiful gardens designed by her father. The atmosphere was that of causal elegance and the day was perfect.

And don’t forget to look for a friend Eric Wright from All Wright Music. Not only did he provide fabulous entertainment that night, but served as their officiant! So many talents!

We’ve had a couple of light weeks on the blog, mostly due to some heavy weeks of shooting and processing. Ok, admittedly after a packed September we also took a few days off to catch our breath and hang out with our kids. I pulled this one out of the archives from a couple of years ago. These were awesome because of 1.) The beautiful fushia color of Katie’s shoes, 2.) the fact that the bridesmaids wore the same style, and 3.) even though their shoes were black, their toenails matched the bride’s shoes! Now there is some attention to detail!
